Summary/Abstract: Having a difficult and dangerous occupation requires not only knowledge and skills but also specific personal resources. A military pilot is an aircraft operator performing complex air missions where effective performance of his work basically depends on the level of his flight training but also on his hope for success conditioned by various subjective and situational factors. The analyses provided in this article consider hope as a variable correlating with the sense of effectiveness of a selected group of helicopter and transport aircraft pilots. The research used a diagnostic survey method with application of a questionnaire technique. The results obtained confirmed the hypothetical assumption of a statistical relationship between these variables. It turned out that the higher the level of self-efficacy was, the higher hope for success the surveyed military pilots had.
