Summary/Abstract: The school is not independent of the processes ruling the public space. One of them is the crashing of values known as a culture war. The article shows the consequences of adopting one of the narrative strategies: celebration, promotion, and emancipation. It conducts to polarization during the lessons of Polish when the teacher follows one of them. In this situation four ways of behavior are possible: imposing one’s own values, calling into question the values of the other side, quasi-professionalism, dialogue, and solidarity. Dialogue is constructive but not easy aim to achieve. Polish is shown here as the school subject serving to build consensus, solidarity, understanding the other person, the perceiving values in dissimilar opinions.
