Summary/Abstract: Divergent thinking is one of creative attitude components that characterizes talented people. Stimulating the development of this type of thinking is one of the tasks facing modern schools, because it is necessary for the proper functioning of an individual in modern society and the realization of his or her subjectivity. Rapid changes in the surrounding reality require an equally quick response and the ability to create new, diverse solutions to emerging problems. The aim of this article is to present philosophizing with children as method that helps stimulate development of divergent thinking. At the beginning, the relationship between creative abilities and creative thinking was discussed, one of the constitutional elements of which is divergent thinking. Then, a definitional approach to the above issue is presented, which is the basis for considering the characteristics of philosophizing with children, aimed at the development of divergent thinking, and in a broader perspective, the integral development of the student as a person.
