Summary/Abstract: Due to their relevance for the distribution of collective knowledge, basic concepts of discourse are one of the most important objects of research in critical discourse analysis. In this paper, we analyze key conceptual domains relevant for the construal of the concept of the Briton in the Brexit discourse of the Tageszeitung. The theoretical foundations of the analysis are rooted in two cognitive approaches: the frame semantics and the cognitive ethnolinguistics.
