Aspects of the Influence of the Persian Literature on the Iranian Cinema

Summary/Abstract: The article will specify the processes and specific forms of manifestations of Persian literature on Iranian cinema. The main highlights are related to the purposeful exposure of leading scholarly positions in the discourse on the relationship between Persian literature and Iranian cinema, in the contexts of their interaction and impact. The main discussion fields are related to the articulation of the collaboration of directors with writers and poets (on screenplays, adaptation of literary works, etc.), the use of Persian poetry in the form of dialogue in films, including the citation of famous masters of the Persian word such as Hafez, Rumi, Ferdowsi, Ahmad Shamlu and a number of others, the poetic vision of the world, mysticism and mystical love, the use of poetic means of symbolism, metaphors, as well as the characteristic multi-layered meaning. The main thesis is that at the basis of Iranian cinema, along with the Persian language, cultural, mythological, historical and religious traditions, literary traditions occupy their essential place.
