Summary/Abstract: This research aims to examine the effects of social justice-based education approaches on primary school students' sensitivity to the concept of social justice, empathy development, in-class communication, reactions to social inequalities, reactions based on demographic factors, the effect of the materials used and the role of the teacher. The participants of the research consist of a total of 10 teachers teaching in 10 different classes in Adana. Within the scope of the research, students' level of understanding of the concept of social justice, empathy development, in-class communication and sensitivity to social inequalities were observed. Additionally, students' reactions were examined depending on demographic factors and the effect of the materials used on the students' knowledge level was evaluated. The role of teachers in the social justice-based education process has also been observed. The findings reveal that social justice-based education programs generally have a positive impact on students' social and emotional development. It has been determined that students' sensitivity to social justice issues increased, their empathy development was supported, and positive changes were observed in classroom communication. Depending on demographic factors, it has been determined that social justice-based education is effective, the materials used contribute to the knowledge level of the students, and the guiding role of the teacher is important.
