Summary/Abstract: This research evaluates the impact of using game-based learning methods to improve the language skills of primary school students. In the study, an experiment was designed to be carried out on a total of 48 primary school students studying in Adana. Students were divided into two groups: control and experimental groups. While the experimental group participated in language skill activities that included game-based learning methods, the control group was trained with traditional language teaching methods. At the beginning and end of the study, pretest and posttest were applied to both groups to evaluate their language skills. The findings show that there is no significant difference between the initial language skills of the experimental group and the control group, but according to the post-test results, the experimental group demonstrated a higher language ability. Correlation analysis reveals a strong relationship between the game-based learning method and language skills among students in the experimental group. Similarly, a strong relationship was found between traditional learning methods and language skills among students in the control group. This research highlights that game-based learning methods have the potential to increase primary school students' language skills. It is important to share these findings with relevant stakeholders in order to support efforts in the adoption and implementation of innovative strategies in language teaching practice.
