Summary/Abstract: The article „Christian Seneca“ and „Christian Cicero“ – Two Views into Latin Apologetics describes, the reasons why two Latin ecclesiastical writers , Minucius Felix and Lactantius, were titled „Christian Seneca“ (Minucius) and „Christian Cicero“ (Lactantius) by humanists of the Rennaisance time. In Minucius the affinity of Seneca is based on the stoic character of his apologetic dialogue Octavius, whereas Lactantius is similar to Cicero in his literary style. In many aspects, however, Minucius can be compared also to Cicero and Lactantius with Seneca. Both authors aim to show Christianity as philosophy sui generis, which is not an antithesis of ancienit pagan culture, but on the very contrary, its completion.
