Summary/Abstract: The aim of the article lies in explaining the role of the Czech Armed Forces in the Integrated Rescuing System, the way of demanding and setting the forces as well as the financial means of the Czech Army in salvage operations, in doing the tasks of civilian protection in case of a natural disaster and in doing the tasks of the Police of the Czech Republic. The author tries to explain and specify a current status of the Czech Armed Forces (forces and means of the Army of the Czech Republic, respectively) in a broader context of a system of a crisis management, to explain the ways and possibilities of their effective setting within the scope of the Integrated Rescuing System in case of emergencies and their elimination. It is important to emphasize that the exempt forces and means of the Czech Army belong to the group of so called other components of the Integrated Rescuing System according to the law and as such provide a planned aid within rescuing and liquidating activities on request. Such a request can be made only by means of a competent County Fire Department. Setting of requested forces and means of the Czech Army is supported firstly by military rescuing units (rescuing battalions) where lots of special technologies and experts are available. It is necessary to explain that such means can be used not only for an immediate rescue but also for a liquidation of natural disaster effects. However, this can be determined only by the Czech government following the suggestion of the secretary of Defence. At the very end of the article there is a practical example of functioning the rules and principles mentioned above.
