Summary/Abstract: Socialist propaganda in Bulgarian society after 1944 used cinema and other arts as a conduit for the ideological line imposed by the Communist Party. The children’s audience was not spared from it either. From an early age, children are drawn into the “correct” party line with the creation of a clearly hierarchical structure of organizations through which to be controlled until they reach adulthood. Cinema “helps” this goal by focusing on themes and subjects that make the communist idea appealing to the youngest viewers.
