Summary/Abstract: The Polish parliamentary elections 2007 confirmed again that the Polish party system is not still fully consolidated. The optimistic predictions from the middle of the 90’s of the previous century about the possible direction to party consolidation did not take place in spite of the fact that it seemed to stabilize in the form of right-left bipolarity on the party map, which would support higher stability and fighting power of Polish governments. The early elections confirmed not only the Polish party trend but they showed themselves as a turning point. No parliamentary elections have noted higher electoral participation since the fall of communism so far. In the same way it was for the first time when parliamentary elections generated the lowest number of political parliamentary parties since the year 1989 - only four. On contrary, the most radical political parties left Sejm - the League of Polish Families and the Self-Defense. The aim of this article is to analyze the pre-elect situation of the early elections 2007, their run and results.
