Summary/Abstract: The current time is characterized by high demands on communication functions. Besides the text creation, the productive function, it concerns accepting and understanding the text. The special attention should be paid to this function particularly in the scholarly texts. Scholarly texts are characterized by increased condensation. Syntactic condensation, typical of the scholarly style, is an important instrument which supposes certain intellectual and expressive abilities in current Czech language.
