Summary/Abstract: After the 1848 revolution failure, great men with Avram Iancu could understand that the political fight against the dual Austro-Hungarian Empire should be moved to the cultural fight. In these conditions, at Sibiu, in October 23 / 4 November 1861, the Transylvania Association for Literature and Culture of the Romanian People (ASTRA). Its basic aim is to contribute to the process of enlightenment for the great Transylvania Romanians’ Union with the Mother Country. After the Union, Vasile Goldiş as president gets new rules to the Association. Following, in time, the ASTRA’s aims and the European Union Program we find out that between them, there are now similarities. Vasile Goldiş, with his political feelings, could see that a future national state will appear, through which the nations do not lose their identity and then get their specific ethnical features of the state that it has the particularities of the modern European state.
