Summary/Abstract: The pension system is a key element of people’s social security in every developed country. Industrial states are facing the longlasting crisis of this system now. The first reason is denatality and the other reason is longer living of people. The number of people in the working age is lower, states face this problem by increasing the retirement age. Pension system changes (in the Czech Republic since 1st Jan 2010) solve the problem of longer living age only. The very low birth rate is the reason of problems in the Czech Republic and there is no solution yet. This indicator has fallen since 1994. The way that is offered does not solve it. This is OPT-OUT system. Illnesses, lower efficiency, unemployment etc. can affect the retirement age. The impact of increasing retirement age can be restricted. The experience of this started in the nineties has meant a considerable increasing number of inhabitants with disability pension. A high number of people of preretirement age have used the possibility to leave their active working age earlier. The future of the pension system requires stabilising of Pay As You Go system. All plans consider this one now. The balance of the system requires the intervention to the income side firstly and then the solution of the unfavourable demographic development. The solution of this problem is the interconnection with family policy. The way that solves this problem is described in the article. The suggestion of using the inbuilt stabilizer appears here, too. The contributions depend on the number of children in the family.
