Summary/Abstract: This research is based on the hypothesis that the Romanian Church United with Rome represented in the time frame 1945-1948 an obstacle and a symbol of resistance to the establishment of communism in Romania. The subject of the research is a rather little studied one, but nevertheless, there are some notable papers carried out in recent years from which a new research approach can be started. It should be taken into account that most of the information can be obtained by consulting the documents from the archives, as well as from the newspapers that were published in those years. In other words, this paper aims to illustrate how the political and ideological pressure on the Greek Catholic Church is reflected in the preceding years of the abolishion of this Church.
