Summary/Abstract: This paper deals with the human resource management in small-sized enterprises of the Region of South Bohemia. The most valuable asset of enterprises is human resources, undoubtedly, whose development is increasingly considered as the main competitive advantage in the new global environment. The objective of this research is to find out the current status of human resource management in the analyzed small-sized enterprises and identify the main areas of human resource management. This issue is a part of the research project GAJU 068/2010/S titled „Process Management and its Possible Implementation in Small and Medium-sized Enterprises“. The primary data were obtained with the questionnaire method from 40 randomly selected small-sized enterprises. The results confirm the growing importance of developing human resources. Finally, we can say that most analyzed small-sized enterprises deal with the process of human resource management.
