Summary/Abstract: The energetic potential of the biomass is very large and must be used in the frame of renewable energy sources. The largest percentage of energy produced from biomass is in intentionally growing plants especially. The comparison of the selected perennial plants with the main competitors at the market shows that the biofuel has the comparable caloricity as the brown coal and the emission depends on the form of the burnt material. From the cost point of view, the sour dock is the most perspective plant. This plant has no chance at the market without subventions.
