Summary/Abstract: The ecosystem sustainability and global emission trading has the aim to gather as many countries as possible in order to achieve a global reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and so to achieve the environmental security. The article discussess the area where financial market operates in terms of environmental tools – environmental derivatives and their use in the current economic development. The article is the result of the research project Creating excellent department of economic research on civilization challenge in the 21st century (ITMS 26240120032). The project is co-financed by the EU.
