Summary/Abstract: Victor Tufescu was an outstanding personality of Romanian geography. He establishedhimself with brilliance as a university professor in two prestigious institutions of highereducation: the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (formerly the Academy of HigherCommercial and Industrial Studies, then the Institute of Economic Sciences “V.I. Lenin”)and the University of Bucharest, as well as an excellent researcher, mainly at the Institute ofGeography of the Romanian Academy. He was honoured with the title of Academician.
