Summary/Abstract: The article is about one of the last unsuccessful attempts to cross the border to Austria illegally. The main characters of the story are the Romanian couple named Mocanu and their friend, a Dutchman named de Ruiter, who had procured false travel documents for them and organized their attempt to escape from the Iron Curtain. All of them were caught and sentenced to long-lasting imprisonment before they could have been expelled from Czechoslovakia.
