Summary/Abstract: The author deals with the breeding of cattle, pigs, rabbits and poultry and the cultivation of potatoes, sugar beet and oilseed rape on the territory of the Czech Republic today. The characteristics of the crops and livestock species enable the evaluation from an economic point of view. Regarding sugar beet and potatoes, a significant reduction of the area sown and planted was found out while on the other hand, the area of oilseed rape grew substantially. The number of rabbits and breeding cattle declined while the number of pigs slightly increased. A greater increase occurred in the number of poultry. The author supposes that the government support of farmers is insufficient since the country is able to produce a variety of crops that we now import. There would be the rise of local employees and, in addition, there would be healthy and safe food production. The author also provides the information about the world’s largest growers of potatoes, beet and oilseed rape and about the largest producers of pork, beef, rabbit meat consumption, and eggs production data.
