Summary/Abstract: The issue of secondary education of Romani youth is relatively marginal in the public debate on integrating the Roma into society. One of the reasons may be the assumption that a Romani child who succeeds in obtaining pre-school and primary education is also able to cope with secondary education; however, this assumption seems to ignore the fact that segregation is a phenomenon that is inherently embedded in the system of educating the Roma population.
