Summary/Abstract: TIMMS research was carried out with the aim of improving the education system at the world level. Research is based on the fields of mathematics and natural sciences. In addition, several factors that have an impact on the development of student achievements in the field of information literacy were tested. The research proved that mentors or teachers should be skilled enough to establish communication with the NET generation of young people. By using a computer or tablet during classes, it is possible to establish a connection with young people born in the digital era, by adjusting the teaching aids, the level of interaction is raised. Research has proven that having a scientific laboratory and using computer technologies significantly influences the development of information and scientific literacy. Having your own mobile phone and computer has a significant impact when it comes to acquiring knowledge in natural sciences and mathematics. Therefore, with the introduction of digital technologies and innovations in the education system, the trend of poor results in international research should be a thing of the past.
