Summary/Abstract: Since the 1990s the United Nations has been intensively involved in the solution of anthropogenic and natural disasters. The last World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction in 2015 acceded to comprehensive disaster management. The article deals with the comparison of accepted requirements and recommendations in four priority areas of disaster reduction and the situation in the Czech Republic. The results show that the national conditions cover all phases of disaster management. The identified weaknesses and threats are summarized in the SWOT analysis.
