Summary/Abstract: Social justice has been considered in human and social sciences as a multi-dimensional concept. It has been reviewed in the context of social well-being, universalhuman rights as well as in the context of the idea of good life. Following these remarksthe authors analyse farmers’ protests in the context of social movement theories witha special emphasis on relative deprivation as a main reason of protest activities. In furtherparts of the paper the authors consider protests organised by Polish farmers in the periodfrom the mid-19th century to current times showing their basic demands. Theseconsiderations lead to the conclusion that all the protests have been focused on the ideasrooted in the dimensions of social justice mentioned above.
