Summary/Abstract: The article revolves around modern approaches to understanding the essence of information and communication technologies. The analysis of scientific definitions of the notion “information and communication technologies” was carried out. Based on instrumental and organizational aspects of information and communication technologies integrated nature of ICT is defined. The author’s definition of information and communication technologies was formulated.
