Summary/Abstract: The number of customers-consumers who have problems when eating foods that contain gluten is constantly increasing. Especially the number of lower age consumers with this restriction is increasing. Celiacs must adjust their dietary regime (gluten free diet), search and buy food naturally gluten-free or containing gluten only in the permissible amount (Regulation (EC) no. 41/2009). The problems that celiacs suffer from are manifested not only in the field of physical health, in the social sphere (the feeling of social exclusion), in the psychological field (feelings of depression and anxiety), but especially in the catering area because of the necessity of preparing gluten-free meals and limited public catering including travelling (Lee Newman 2003; Sverker, Hensing, Hallert 2005, Sverker et al. 2009). In the research project in custody and following an evaluation of the situation on the Czech market that offers these foods, the supply (availability) and its parameters for celiacs when deciding to buy gluten-free foods are monitored. The part of this paper is to evaluate the state of the offer of gluten-free foods from several consumers’ viewpoints within the system of internal trade of the Czech Republic.
