Summary/Abstract: The phenomenon of corruption in sports activities considerably slows down its development at national level. The forms of manifestation of this scourge require the state authorities to resort to the basic “tools” that are specific to the investigating officers. Such offenses can be prevented and investigated by means of special investigative measures, as reflected in Article 18 of Law 59 on Special Investigative Activity. Through special investigative measures, latent offenses can be successfully investigated and information needed to identify the causes and conditions that determine their commission can also be successfully investigated, which greatly facilitates the prevention activity. However, acts of corruption in the sports sphere are not fully illustrated in official statistics and are part of the category of latent crimes.
