Socio-legal aspects of cross-border posting of workers

Summary/Abstract: The possibility of cross-border posting of employees represents a number of obligations for the employer not only in the field of the labour law but also in the field of the social security law. The social security system that will apply during the posting period depends on the length of the work abroad and on the fact whether the employer has requested the PD A1 document that was subsequently issued for them. In this paper, the authors analyze the rules and exceptions under which the relevant social security system is applied.
