Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the archival research and digitalization of documents related to the political repression of Czechoslovak citizens in the Soviet Union (SSSR) during the Second World War, carried out by the project Čechoslováci v Gulagu (Czechoslovaks in Gulag). The authors focus on the fate of former prisoners of Gulag who joined the Czechoslovak military unit in SSSR and fought against Nazi Germany on the Eastern Front. They present some of the unique sources they obtained from Ukrainian archives, such as the investigation files of NKVD, which contain personal data and photographs of the Czechoslovak soldiers. They also describe some of the places connected to the battles of the Czechoslovak brigade in Ukraine, such as Sokolovo, Kyiv, and Vasilkovo.
