Summary/Abstract: The article describes the results of the study on the relationship between the socio-psychological portrait of a new recruit and his or her successful adaptation to the military environment. The empirical study was organized to identify the peculiarities of the adaptation of conscripts to the army environment by identifying their personality characteristics. A sample of 302 recruits aged 18-24 years was selected for the study. In this study, we aimed to defi ne the objectives, hypotheses and tasks of the research, as well as to present statistical data and correlations of the variables analyzed, such as character emphasis, neuropsychic stability, self-esteem, motivation and stress resistance. Analysis of the data allows us to conclude that a set of relatively stable personal characteristics in military personnel plays a key role in their successful adaptation to a wide range of situations encountered in the military environment.
