Summary/Abstract: Icons became an increasingly familiar presence to Christians, especially with thespread of the faith outside the Jewish space, more restrained from iconographicrepresentations, although assiduously honoring the revealed scriptural text, as wellas the temple adorned with figurative images and religious representations. However, in the 8th and 9th centuries they would be exposed to a fierce reevaluation, through the Byzantine iconoclasm, 726-780, 815-842. The Church would confirm, inthe end, both the importance of iconography and the veneration of the icons, arguingit on the bases of Christ incarnation and on the antiquity of the tradition. There werestill less emphasised the fact that God is sharing His all-blessing-grace and revealsHimselves through the icons
