Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with the control carried out in the field of public administration. Public administration is part of the executive power and therefore it is very important for its activities to be carried out on the basis and within the limits of the law. Control is simply a guarantee in life that everyone will perform their work and mission in society in such a way that it does not interfere in any way with the rights and legally protected interests of others. The aim of the paper is to point out the importance and significance of control in public administration with a more detailed focus on the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic and its activities.
