Summary/Abstract: When searching on the Internet or in the internal corpus of Jazykovedný ústav of Ľ Štúra SAS . It is not uncommon for us to be interested in a language phenomenon - it can to be a neologism, a new meaning or linking of words. A stimulating source lexical "news" are sometimes also accidentally overheard oral conversations. In our contribution, we will focus on a new, lexicographically unrecorded the verb to sharpen. Although its occurrence is not so significant (in corpus there are approx. 660 documents, on the Internet considerably more), it goes according to us in Slovak for a neologism that deserves attention.
