“THE HARMFULNESS OF SOME DYES TO DYEING OF CHILDREN TOYS AND CONFECTIONARY PRODUCTS IN GENERAL IS ANNOUNCED.”

Summary/Abstract: The paper is based on regulations issued by Bohemian Governor’s Office in the first half of the 19th century pertaining first to the restriction (1824) and, later, to the ban of use of harmful dyes for preparation of confectionary and some food products and for toys production. It brings basic overview of unsuitable, detrimental dyes and their substitutes that were primarily natural pigments of animal or vegetable origin.
