System of financing losses incurred by people as a result of catastrophic events in view of empirical research

Summary/Abstract: Natural hazards have always existed, posing threat to people, animals and plants. Recently, they have often troubled Poland, seriously affecting various sectors and fields of human activity. Compensations paid by the state, cheap loans and donations do not satisfy victims' needs. For this reason, the author, who uses empirical research into insurance of natural persons against catastrophic events or natural disasters as a basis for his opinions, joins the discussions on creating a systemic solution thanks to which financial assistance would be immediately provided to victims.
