In the context of the war between Russia and Ukraine, Turkey tried to influence the relationship with the European Union to get closer to it. The problem is that the Turkish state has not met all the membership conditions, to close all negotiation domains. To solve this problem, European Union is doing efforts by exposing mandatory requirements and advice relating to the accession negotiation process and the candidate country is trying to fulfil the related rules by negotiating groups and institutions created for membership. Unfortunately, at present, the candidate state is not so interested to integrate into Europe, taking into account a possible alternative to cooperate with Russia and China. Unfortunately, the current crisis put Turkey in a difficult situation. In recent years it can be seen a regression in democracy in the favour of the influence of Islam in government.
