Summary/Abstract: The present paper aims to examine and understand the complex influence of green supply chain management practices and drivers on economic, environmental, and operational performance for firms operating in the automotive industry. Sustainability is a trending topic nowadays, but it is important to understand the different aspects of the issue, examine it as a whole, complex system, and at the same time evaluate the efficiency of these factors. The automotive sector was selected, based on its extensiveness, being one of the biggest sectors in the world, especially if we take into consideration its supply chain, and it has a major responsibility regarding sustainability issues. As a first step, all the relevant publications were selected with the help of a systematic literature review. The chosen articles empirically researched the topic in different regions of the world and based on that, five distinctive green supply chain practices and three different drivers were defined. The selected practices are eco-design, internal environmental management, green purchasing, customer cooperation, and green logistics, while the drivers are investment recovery, institutional pressure, and normative pressure. As a second step, with the help of meta-analysis, it concluded, that the usage of these practices and the influence of these drivers lead to better firm performance in the long term, although the contribution is diverse. The result of the analysis shows that green purchasing and internal environmental management are the most influential of the selected practices, while investment recovery is the most relevant driver in sustainability efforts.
