Summary/Abstract: The Yugoslav transition after 1948 attracted great attention of the worldwide public. In the acquaintance of the new Yugoslavia, the official representatives of states and economic entities, and many other organizations and individuals participated. Cooperation with peacekeeping movements and peace organizations was particularly in mutual interest. The subject of this paper is an analysis of the reports on impressions from Yugoslavia in 1950, made by one such organization – the American Friends Service Committee. Understanding how this Committee perceived the situation in Yugoslavia is important not only due to the organization’s credibility but also because of the dynamic historical circumstances in which the country rapidly redefined its socio-economic system and significantly shifted its foreign policy orientation based on the old ideology.
