Summary/Abstract: The object of this paper reflects on emphasizing the importance and continuous development of the subjects oriented towards teaching SFL in the field of initial education of (future) teachers of the Spanish language. The idea is, first of all, to present the inception of both theoretical and practical subjects in the Department through the curricula of four accreditations presented on its' website, relying on the support of the Department's archives, following, where possible, the number of students who have passed such subjects. We believe it is relevant to show their curricular trajectory, on the one hand, and the value that these subjects bring to the university program, on the other hand. The final objective encompasses both increasing the visibility of the ELE teaching subjects after a detailed comparison of their initial version with the current one, announcing the new accreditation, as well as contextualizing the quality of the Department's program for future Spanish teachers.
