An unedited document about Roseln from 1428. Social, legal, economic, cultural and ecological aspects of the Transylvanian-Saxon Middle Ages

Summary/Abstract: In September 2022, the conservation and restoration work on the Evangelical Church of Roseln (now incorporated into the city of Agnetheln), which began in 2018, was completed; the church is now open to the public again. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the connection between monument preservation and historical documentation. In the following, a previously little-known document from 1428 will be edited and analyzed, which documents the complex cultural heritage of Roseln. This also complements the “Document Book on the History of the Germans in Transylvania”, a monumental scientific undertaking that is not yet completed.
