Comments on quality of general insurance terms

Summary/Abstract: The author formulates a number of editorial directives for general insurance terms which should help insurers to improve the quality of their market offer and ensure compliance with the law, while at the same time taking full advantage of all available legal possibilities to adequately shape the insurance contract. The topics discussed in the article include:implementation of rights and obligations of the parties in contents of the general insurance terms in a manner differing from mandatory provisions of the law, implementation of statutory regulations in contents of the terms of insurance, priority of the individual agree- ment over the general terms, timeframes of regulations provided in the general terms, inclusion of all elements which the legislators deem necessary in the general terms, and clarity and explicitness of provisions in the general insurance terms.
