Summary/Abstract: The present paper proposes an introspection into the Romanian regulatory framework regarding the right to one’s own image as a distinctive category of personality rights, from a broader Central‐East‐European comparative perspective. The focus of the study falls on the key elements of the relatively new codified body of law (the New Civil Code of Romania into effect since 2011), as it shares a series of similar traits in this aspect with some other Central‐East‐European countries that have gone through a similar process.
