Summary/Abstract: Domestic violence is a reality of the contemporary world, constituting a violation of human rights, which manifests itself in all states, without distinguishing according to the level of development, the dimensions of this phenomenon taking on an increasingly large scale, which determines the adoption strict and complex regulations aimed at reducing its effects. The article analyzes domestic violence in the rural environment, as a space where ancient traditions and customs are strongly manifested, dominated by the concept that the man is perceived as having a dominant force in the family, which gives him the opportunity to impose his will, including resorting to forms of violence, not only physical, but also verbal, psychological, social or economic, which cumulatively, over time have harmful consequences for the victims. At the same time, as part of the scientific approach, the dimensions of the phenomenon of domestic violence, its impact on the family in the rural environment, but also the effects it has in the area of succession law regarding the right to inheritance will be exposed, concluding that the forms of aggression it manifests itself with greater frequency in the rural environment than in the urban one.
