Summary/Abstract: In the first half of the 20th century, prominent representatives of Romanian musical neoclassicism, such as Dinu Lipatti, Mihail Ardricu, will turn their attention to a musical genre in which the orchestra is treated as a concert instrument. Called a concert for orchestra, this genre involves the combination of forms and ways of writing in which musical ideas are developed in broad forms, with a specific orchestration, close to symphonic particularities, but which also considers the emancipation within the orchestral ensemble of some instruments whose vesting with a soloist role and revealing some virtuoso techniques, contribute to the realization of the concert spirit in all its components: melodic, rhythmic, dynamic and coloristic-timbral.
