Summary/Abstract: In my contribution, I would like to recall a specific part of Professor Jiří Skalička's work - the one that is unfairly underestimated rather than appreciated these days - the editing activity. During his lifetime, Jiří Skalička prepared editions of 24 books - some in collaboration with colleagues in the field - Jaromír Bělič or Oldřich Králík, some completely independently. His publishing efforts could typologically be divided into three groups: 1. Editions of canonical authors (Karel Havlíček Borovský, Josef Dobrovský, Jan Herben...); 2. Edition of regional authors of the national revival (set of regional works Múza Moravská, Antoš Dohnal); 3. Edition of the work of Josef Kocourek - the author whom Skalička de facto discovered for Czech literary history.
