Analysis of the changes in the revenue structure of the banks listed on the Warsaw Stock exchange in the context of implementation by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority of Recommendation U

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this study is to analyse the changes in the revenue structure of the banks listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the context of implementation by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority of Recommendation U. The scope of this discussion does not include formal and legal issues, as in this context attention has been paid mainly to the latest events and financial data. Consequently, selected parameters of banks as of 30 June 2013 have been selected and compared with annual data. Further- more, the text has been supplemented with the latest market information and draft version of Recom- mendation U, whose expected influence on the architecture of the bancassurance segment in Poland will be significant. The actions taken by the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and other institu- tions (e.g. Insurance Ombudsman and UOKiK) have already caused visible changes in the revenue structure, both in the case of insurers and banks. Consequently, the study sorts out the latest events on the bancassurance market and presents the most important issues related to potential changes and risks for the individual segments and financial market participants.
