THE ROLE OF THE OPENING OF THE SAXOPHONE CLASS IN THE SIXHUAN CONSERVATORY IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CHINESE SAXOPHONE SCHOOL

Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the research is to identify evidence of pedagogical, performing and scientific-methodical activities of teachers after the opening of the saxophone class at the Sichuan Conservatory in 1980. To prove that the results of their work give a reason to state the beginning of the formation of the Chinese saxophone school. Research methodology. The realisation of the purpose required the use of the following set of methods: source study – for processing and systematisation of the found materials; musicological – in the analysis of concert pedagogical, performing and scientific-methodical activities of teachers of the department of saxophone playing; systemic – in the holistic study of the activities of Chinese and Western saxophonists and the determination of their role in the formation of the saxophone school. Narrative analysis was used for specific characteristics of the performance of individual Chinese saxophonists. Scientific novelty consists in realisation of the first research of musicologist of founding and activity of pedagogical carrying out composition of class of saxophone game in Sichuan conservatory during the first twenty years of the ХХІ century. Conclusions. The article examines aspects of the activities of saxophone teachers of the Sichuan Conservatory and their interaction with European, American and Ukrainian specialists. The formation of a bright professional saxophone school in China has been proven.
