DIGITAL ENLIGHTENMENT: DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF EDUCATION AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE EDUCATION

Summary/Abstract: The term digital has been on the agenda in all areas of life for ten years. It has been implemented much more frequently since the pandemic and continues to this day. Therefore, we are experiencing a time that we can call the time of digital enlightenment. The most important revolutionary feature of digital enlightenment is machine learning and the artificial intelligence concepts and applications developed from it. The concept of artificial intelligence, which arose with the birth of computer science, has become extremely popular today with the ChatGPT application and the research in this area. APPS applications, which have long been used in foreign language teaching, actually, include some of the applications of artificial intelligence. However, with the development of the concept of artificial intelligence, the concept itself and the applications developed seem to be groundbreaking in both foreign language teaching and education. This study aims at discussing the concept of digital enlightenment in education and foreign language teaching.
