Summary/Abstract: The Theotokos Peleotissa monastery was founded by the ruler of Melnik and the adjacent lands Despot Alexis Slav (Actes de Vatopédi, I, no 13) before 1216, and it lost its independence in January 1365, when the lord of Serres region Despot John Uglesa donated it to Vatopedi. Soon after that monks from the Athonite monastery took over the management of their new property and compiled an inventory of the Melnik monastery. This interesting text, drawn up after January 15, 1365, is published in Actes de Vatopédi, II, no 120 and has a volume of 34 lines. For the first time, it reveals the entire property of the monastery which it acquired from its founder, from the first abbot, Archimandrite Paul Claudiopolit, and from later donations: icons (lines 4–6), liturgical vessels and textiles (lines 6–13), books which formed the monastery library (lines 13–20), two bells (line 20), eleven monk cells and a refectory (line 21), land and peasants (lines 21–30) and finally other property like barrels, horses, goats, pigs, beehives with bees and tools.
